Are you the favorite ?

Despite working in a 'we-are-fair-to-everyone' environment, sometimes there are still some other that stands out more. There will always be a 'favorite' from one part of your life to another. Ask yourself this question, if someone ask you what is your favorite movie 8 months back, then it may be spiderman. But now with the same question, it maybe transformers. For me, it's going to be Transformers for a while more.

Recently, I'm experiencing this 'dropping out' period in certain part of my life & I can understand the advantage(s) of being the favorite compared the 'normal'. One of my good friend is also complaining why such treatment is possible, but what can I say, it exists.

Again, my moto : Nothing is forever. Even being the famous one, the cute one, the rich one, the handsome one ... there will be an end, somehow. Then again, I ask myself, why do we always want to be the favorite one to someone ? This question, I may need sometime to think of an answer. Some of us are 'rewarded' with the favorite status due to some hard-earned effort, some of us is just with a natural born talent to get this status. Whatever it is, I just feels it's not important because ultimately it's not permanent. You just cannot force someone to like you, unless that person really likes you. You cannot force the company to appreciate your efforts if they cannot see your results (There will always be someone that gets better results than you, and records set today will be broken one fine day). Just be yourself, perform your responsibility with no 'favorite' stress behind your mind and I'm sure someone will appreciate .... very soon.

For everyone else whom I have no chance to update - I'm leaving my current company for a better career opportunity + better offer. I truly thank God for it as His timing is amazing. I can't wait to start my journey in the new place. The expectation is definitely higher, and the pace is so much faster than my current company. Gonna miss the people here, but things are pretty 'slow and steady' in terms of career advancement, and my new job will offer me a bigger playing field to learn and to get more exposure.

Oh ya ! I just received a 'clearer' DVD of Transformers the movie - Thanks bro ! I'm surely watching TF the movie again this weekend. So, I hope you will have a wonderful weekend as well ...

Save time = save money = safe life !!

Wow ... I just realized something so real about myself yesterday when I was driving to work ! I spend lotsa time in the car these days due to the 'normal' traffic jams in the morning and nite traveling from home - work - home, and it again became my quiet time to think things over (I'm a thinker, and I always think, about the future, about the pass, about what happened in the morning, and what I have to do in the evening)


Being an expert in planning and time management, I didn't realize that my strength has become my weakness, without knowing it ! It's so dangerous !!


Blur ?? Let me explain ... Well being an expect in planning and time management, I tend to squeeze lotsa things in the ever limited time I have on my hand. My planning can be so precise that I can meet everyone that I want to, spend just enough time with each one, and I make every meeting a fruitful, and a happy one to everyone. Sometimes, I don't waste my time, between any waiting time, I will try to drop by my favorite sport shops, toy shops if I have a little bit of extra time on my hand - just to check if there's any new arrival ... =)


Little did I know, that this strength of mine, has become a weakness lately. As the master is getting more 'master-er' at fighting time, the master is having bigger challenges in placing more and more events to be 'completed' in a day. And I foresee a big mess coming up, unless I start changing my lifestyle. Over the pass few days, I had to cancel so many appointments due to TOO many appointments that I wasn't able to 'complete'. This may be a sign that I can be getting bad at managing my time, this can also because I'm over stressing myself with too many appointments in order to make my time useful.

Life in general works like this too, I remembered once my pastor shared in his sermon, about Man trying to fill the blackhole in our life with all these material stuff, that in the end, the results will still be emptiness. Sometimes a simple life is good enough, sometimes going home and do nothing is not boring, but infact it's rewarding. Come to think about it, I would rather tell my friends I'm very free now, compared to telling them I'm lost in time !! So, this will mean I won't be going out so often, and many other cancellation to appointments, and lesser weekly routine sessions with friends.

This is to annouce that, today - Friday, 17 August 2007, after like don't know how many million years, I forgot to zip up my pants after my toilet break. I ALWAYS check, but this particular day, I forgot the SOP, and finally it happen to me =(

I am not sure if I caused any damages to anyone's eyes during the journey from the toilet back to my cubicle, but the path is a long one .. going through the receptionist, then the main meeting room (with people inside the meeting room looking while I walked through), then to customer service area, only to reach my cubicle.

Anyway, I will know if I see any swollen eyes on Monday =)

Growing is a part of life ??

Without knowing .. I realized I aged so much lately ..

One question that pop up in my mind tonite, is that why God made us so special that we actually grow from an infant to an adult, I mean physically apart from mental, spiritual, hardship ... etc.

The more I think about it, the more I'm amazed at the design of God's given 'life'. We were born into the world with our parents ready to take care of us. Our parents gave us love, care, food, money, support, encouragement until we are ready to stand on our own in this world. And all this efforts, will not be wasted because the design itself is so beautifully considered that we'll in turn take care of them when they cannot take care of themselves. Actually it's even harder for us, when we have to take care of them, and at the same time start a new family. That will be another amazing part of life that God will upgrade along the way. It's just like Windows, from the basic until the latest Windows technology we're using in our daily lifes today.

But the ultimate question will still be : why God made us grow, from a cute little fellow, until we can take care of our good selves, and then grow old, and expect our children, or others to take care of us in latter stage of our lifes. Why can't we just grow till we're 30, and stopped growing physically while we can still grow in mental and spiritual.

Answers anyone ??

Rat race ...

Well just came back from a Uni mate makan-makan with Kev, Ming, Zitt and Fey .. It's a very good makan gathering as the full Monash geng turn up this time. And everyone is really growing, we have departmental head, manager, senior engineers and a supply planner ... and yes me the supply planner =)

Well gatherings like this will always end up talking about work issues, who bought new apartment, who bought new house, bought new car, promotion, just came back from US ... bla bla bla ... and like always, the comparison starts !!

As for me, after meetings like this, I always take some time to think about my career, and yes my other side of the 'comparison'. But ! This time it's a litte different ... it's more like a time to reflect what have I achieved and also to weight what I have in other terms compared to material stuff that this mother earth can provide ...

Yes I may not have nice car, no big apartments, and no good job, but I have other form of blessings from God, that in a long run, I praise God for ! My theory, or more of my agree to other people's theory, is that every good thing on earth comes with a negative point ... have a nice sport car, but to bear the high installments, and the heavy maintenance price ... having a nice place to stay, also meaning working very hard to keep the housing loan running ... etc etc

So at the end of the day, I praise God for what I don't have instead of complaining .. funny, but this is how I feel right now. I actually reliazed that when I was thinking about what I can actually do in order to earn more money to 'buy' good stuff like sport car, nice apartments ... do I really need them ?

What do u think ? Is it a must to be a manager by the age of 30 ? or get an apartment before 28 ? Married with 4 kids by the age of 35 ? and retired before 40 with lotsa money in the bank account ?

Else you will only be a loser compared to your friends ? Please share your views ya .... this should be a nice blog-posting-discussion ... =)

Well life is a funny thing ! I always find life so special, you have everything u need to taste in one single life that you have ! Happiness, sadness, blurness, hardship, failures, success ... etc ...

Growing up in a small family of 6, 2 parents and 4 boys is kinda a funny experience. Well I tried to spend more time with my family lately, and I do say I really tried !! No body can actually understand my time commitment in all the main areas of my life lately, it's just crazy ! It's a crazy balancing act all together. Well life is moving so fast I wish I had more time to spend with those I love. The problem with an all boys family (except my mum) is that, love is not always shown easily. Boys doesn't show their love, expression, or care like gals. We keep most of our emotions inside us. But deep inside us, WE CARE !!

Tonite, my brother Ed is going to leave for US for a 1.5 years training. I know his presence will be dearly missed by most of us. Seriously I had the highest hope in this fellow, he ability in succeeding in every single thing he did amazes me all the time. I'm sure I will miss him lots !! I love all of my brothers, but this fellow is special ! He's a natural born leader and I'm think I already learned a few things from him in the past few years =) Oh yah did I mention I fight with this fellow all the time when I was a kid !! Well, the chinese proverbs are really true, the more you fight, the more you care for that person in the end ... or in another words, encourage fighting !! Muahaha !!

So Bro Ed, here is a msg for you : Take good care of yourself !! We will be praying for you here at home. Don't push yourself too hard ya, remember to enjoy life sometimes =) When you are stress do some travelling, experience the good things US has to offer, and remember to share with us your experience ya ! And finally the hard part ... Bro Eric love you ya ... lots !! (Tears almost came out T-T)

Back to work on a beautiful Monday ...

Oh well ... it's still a nice weekend being away from KL, being far far away from my office ... not going to post pictures of nice food this time, you can refer to the last post about Malacca, had the same food almost ... but this time I ate more .. my car can't even move when I started my journey back to KL ...

This time, we went to the new mall in Malacca - opposite of Mahkota Parade - called Pahlawan Mall ... kinda cool, kinda like Alamanda in Putrajaya ... and to our surprise, the ever famous A-Famosa is just behind the mall ... so we went there to take some photos ... oh did I say, the weather was just beautiful ...

A walk to Jonkers Street for Chicken rice ball, and Ice Cendol with Gula Malacca - SHIOK ! And there were so many visitors ... and saw a few chicks with DSLR also. YZ keep telling me that these chicks were so cool with the DSLR ... how come she never say that about me .. I have a DSLR hanging over my neck too leh !! I think maybe I'm not a chick, so not cool ... but come to think of it, don't think anyone will find a cute fat boy with DSLR sexy ... =(

Well ... Can't wait to go back to Malacca in September (plan to go there in 2 month's time) and take some more pictures. Next trip, I will ... I MUST go to Malacca Zoo, and Mini Asean @ Mini Malaysia !

I'm back ...

Well ... It's a long break from my last post, mainly due to work, and daily happenings that I try to cope. Life is a funny thing, when we were asked during our kiddy times what you wanna be in the future, we really thought that being an engineer or a doctor can be the right thing to be, or being a NBA basketball star can be as cool as a Movie star. But funny how no one ask what kinda life we wanna be in when we grow up ... Life is really catching up, but time given by God is never enough to do all the things he gave me to complete ...

The latest Optimus Prime from the movie ! Taking this chance to say millions of thank you to YZ for us getting the premier tickets ! Well while other Malaysians claimed they are among the firsts to watch transformers on the 28 June, I watched on the 27th !! So I'm firster than the firsts !! Thanks x 100 million times !

Then my first ever event as a official photographer ! I helped to take some nice pictures for the Michelin Latitude Launch in June ... and also a chance to drive these amazing cars (Only parking the cars into position la) ...

The venue of the event is in Lake Garden ... and part of the park is blocked just for the event ...

My prayer to God this week ...

God gave me life and I spend it rushing for reports !

This is basically what I was thinking about all day long since 2 weeks ago .. something my pastor mentioned in his sermon that gave me a BIG slap. Since that BIG slap, I think I'm able to think more clearly! Then the second slap came last Saturday, also in his sermon. Wow ! Yes ! Wow !

For the pass 3 years I've been trying to impress my bosses, my company's management team, that I can do the job. Deadlines are ALL met without fail ! Improving year on year, but suddenly this year I took on new responsibilities because my buddy left the company for a better future. Taking this new role I thought I can challenge myself, and a big break for me to learn something new. Guess what, I ended up doing the same thing .. reports.

I spent the last 6 weeks of my life rushing for reports ! Reports from 8 am till 11 pm ! Mind you it's Monday till Saturday ! Also to adhere to MANY many many last minutes changes that's basically causing me to 'do' all the reports for several times. The same things that I've been experiencing in my last functions all happening again, and this time, with double the workload, and with half the time given ! Oh yah not forgetting the increased expectation from my boss since I'm an 'old' horse in the company.

I think if there's an award for the best 'reporter' I will surely get it! Muahaha !

Now to share about the BIG slap! Wihout knowing it, my priorities are all messed up. I accidentally mixed my understanding of career & work. In career, there's a path, but work hmm .. maybe a little different. The more I work, the more I thought I've improved. Yes perhaps I'm improving in my reporting skills, better in my MS Excel, but I actually worsen in my life, worsen in my serving, worsen in my resposibilities being a good son, brother, or a boy friend. I can't even remember the last time I went out with any of my good friends for a catch up. This is not including the very poor health condition that I'm in right now because of all the late nights, and all the phone calls during weekends about ... reports !

Btw, I think I will cherish more about life experiences ya ! It's not about how fast I can complete my reports, how well I can present my materials. It's all about how I helped a friend, how I brought my younger brothers up as a person that will contribute to the society, how much I love my parents that I actually spend time talking to them, taking care of them, and to be a good life partner, and a father to my son maybe one day =)

God You know what I want, please help me ...

Dear God, thanks for all the blessings & miracles you've showered me & my family. I'm asking for another miracle now. You know what I want, and you know what's best for me. I trusted you all my life, and you've showed that you will deliver your promises ! In Jesus' most powerful and mighty name, AMEN !

Culture City : Kuching .. Miaw !

Kuching continues ...

We can surely see 'Kuching' all over town, but the locals call cats PUSA. The funny thing is, everyone seems to have their own version of how 'Kuching' was named Kuching. Some said its related to Mata Kuching tree, some same it's from a chinese word ' Ku Ching' which means hard labour ... and many more versions ...

The magic word in Kuching is 'Culture' .. everything seems to be linked to culture as it's a city full of cultures, from many tribes. I like the way they preserve their buldings. Here at carpenter's street you can find many funny things, from earrings worn by some of the local tribes, to blow pipes, really working ones !

Another view from the smaller lanes of Carpenter's street ... quite similar to the ones in Malacca, but smaller in size ... somewhere near this place, you can get the ever famous Kolo Mee ... sorry no pictures of Kolo Mee because the moment we were served, we makan terus !! And it's good !

One place you can never miss is the Sarawak Culture Village ... here you can find houses of all the main tribes or races in Sarawak ... it took us around 2-3 hours here, which includes a culture show in an air conditioned room at 4 pm everyday for 45 mins.
Another great building ... houses like this is special to me, it's a totally different league of it's own. Imagine I can stay in one, somewhere in Shah Alam ...

Of coz the gals gone a little crazy looking at these er .. handsome fellows ... hmm ... how come I feel like watching 'Sumo-la', only it's a live action one ??

But ... apart from all the culture shows ... I got a culture shock too in Kuching ....

I'm pretty darn 100 % sure I'm not gonna wear this tee ! The moment I saw this tee in Kuching, I started praying in the middle of the street, that I will not be asked to wear one in my life ...

I think my prayer was heard ... I came back to KL safe and sound with a tee bought by YZ as a gift. The tee is only with some drawings, and a small word : Sarawak ...

Land of the cats - Introduction !

After 2 weeks of being chained to my office chair, trying to cope with all the reports for both the bright and the dark forces, I finally went for my little break in the land of the cats with YZ ! Yes it's Kuching !


Life has been moving so fast, everything seems to be passing by without me noticing it ! All I had in the back of my mind for the first 2 weeks of the month is only reporting ! And all I did for the first 2 weeks of the months is preparing reports from 7 am till 11 pm ! I know it sounds crazy but that's what I did for the first 2 weeks of the month, inclusive of Saturday & Sundays !

First thing we did when we touch down Kuching is to walk around the city, the air is just perfect, the weather is superb, and it's a wonderful sign when I can't even see a single fellow carrying a laptop bag ... basically Kuching is just a slow & easy town ... and it's heaven to be able to do everything SLOW ... slow ... slow ... eat also slow, bath also slow, shit also slow ... no pressure =)

But the most amazing thing happened during our walk in the city ! We found bananas heavenly made for king kong himself ! Have you even seen bananas bigger than a normal size cempedak ? My goodness !
With this fellow, you don't need to pack your lunch to the office ! Like what they say, just a banana a day, and you will have all the energy you need for the day !

Before it's too late =)

Due to working stress, and weaker body lately, I've gained some weight, infact SOME weight !

This is not a good news, I was in a better shape just begining of last year, after a few years of being REAL big in size the year before. But now all my effort wasted, and I'm begining to grow again =(

So I think it's time to start doing more exercise, and drink less sugary drinks like coffee, and teh tarik. This meaning more football, futsal, and less drinking session with the guys =(

Well life is like this, to achieve what you want, you gotta sacrifice the good stuff !

In a way, this is a good change, before I started changing to a big fat worm ... hmm ... come to think of it, better bring YZ along for more climbs, before the 2 of us become worms .. big fat juicy lazy worms ... muahaha !
