Good bye to my short term affair - Nikon D80 ..

While my first love is enjoying herself creating nice pictures in US, I had to say good bye to my new baby that created so much excitement in my recent holiday in Bali Indonesia ...

Just sold the D80 to a nice gentlemen - please take care of her ...

Anyway, this makes way for greater excitement - D90 !! This is what the Chinese says - the old must go before the new comes !! Then this is what I say - old must go before the new comes *but somehow must wait for BONUS to come also* Muahaha !!

I love photography !

The fact that life can be captured into pics that we can keep for a long time is just another lovely creation.

Normally our life pics will reminds us of our good times ... not so much of our bad times. That's even a better reason to take beautiful pics to remind us of the good things in life .. it's also a blessing to be able to look at old pics and say .. wow how I've grown ! For this reason I will continue to take more beautiful moments of life ... like that they say : "A picture tells a thousand words" ... what I have to say is "A picture tells a story better than words". If you love pics you know what exactly I'm saying .. emotions are just not as clear if described by words.

So spend some time taking pics, beautiful ones, meaningful ones, and cherish those moments forever ...

Remember "Everyday is a blessing !" and I'm sure you wanna capture your most wonderful blessings in life, so that you can "count" your blessings one fine day ...

Busy Thursday !!

Every Thursday I have the following events clashing with each other :-

1) Weekly production plan allocation (Long processing time, MUST OT one)
2) Weekly Futsal - Wen Jun's group @ Subang Sports Club
3) Weekly Badminton game - Kraft's & Ex Kraft's
4) Final practice before the Futsal tournament - Kraft Sports Day - 2 Nov
5) Cell Group

So, I can actually attend 1 of the 4 main things that I like to do, of coz balancing the time spent after completing my weekly allocation. I always find it a struggle to go to any of these events with the weekly allocation in mind, however I will try my best to finish the allocation, and go for the most important thing - Cell Group.

I grew up in cell environment, and I know what good it will bring to ppl around us. First, it's the time of the week to get encouragement from other life's stories, and also to spend some time with God (I have no time to spend with God during my other days). Second, I can see the joy and blessings being with these guys. Since I stopped serving in cell ministry long time ago, I think this is the best Cell I belonged to.

I don't know how to explain to those that's still new to Cell ministry, but all I can say is - it's worth the time and effort.

Walau ! Have you ever had a day when everyone is calling your name .. from all angle, and non stop from 8am - 9 pm.

I just experienced such a thing today !!

Phone ringing non stop, everyone - basically almost everyone in the office got a piece of me today ! And the funny thing is, everyone has a problem that I can fix, just that I don't have the time, or rather I don't have enough hands or legs attached to the body to get everyone's requests solved !

Anyway, still a great day ... batt level is now even more low, and I just need to have my quiet time now ... only at 10.25 pm.

Hari raya coming ! So, better buy some food and store them at home !!! Not because it's going to be declared state of emergency, but rather there's a road ban for delivery trucks for almost a week. So Tesco/Giant maybe empty even before Hari Raya celebration !!

Now just pray for me, so that I can have a good nite rest ... another battle tomorrow !

4 Weddings in a month + farewell meal + farewell gifts + birthday dinner + * some other expenses * ... I'm finally broke !

Guys, those getting married, please give me a break ! Those getting 1 year older, please keep it quiet ! I don't even have money to eat roti kosong !

Actually, a month full of action ! I had wedding dinners that I enjoyed doing different things, I met up with old friends again, had great catch ups ! I challenged myself to new things, and found that I can be a good emcee + photographer .. but humble enough to know there are plenty room for improvements ! I have friends moving away to a separate life, and some moved already ...

What a month, jam packed with everything ! Emotional stress, physical tireness, happiness, mental stress ... you name it, I experienced it !

Oh ya, had a busy birthday too ! Happy birthday to me me me ! Oh thanks for all the beautiful wishes in facebook !!

Need rest ... batt level super low now ... later ... Zzz ....

September 08 - A month full of weddings !!

Oh ! My final wedding invitation for the month of September this Sunday !! I had 4 weddings in a roll (week on week), and this weekend is my last before the month hit October.

It's kinda fun and busy at the same time, as I'm involved in 3 out of the 4 weddings, helping out la ..

1) Wilson and Ester - Emcee
2) Ivan & Karen - was asked to become church wedding photographer (didn't get to help, busy)
3) Victor and Annie (Assistant Photographer - Shooting beside a Canon 1D ... beautiful machine)
4) Hong Yuet & *Wifey* (I just got to know I might need to be back up singer, crap !)

I think after this weekend, I really need a good break, and lotsa rest la ... and need to start to recover the $$ in the savings plan again ... 4 weddings, 4 big RED bom, this I think need some time to recover la ....

Op it's 1230 am already, time to sleep ... more updates and pics later ...

Oh well ... it comes in different sizes ... and length ..

Well while I was wondering what on earth is that thing ....

Enough of travel, now back to work !

Oh wow ...

Finally I came to a stop in my travel plans ! Just for now ...

I was in Bandung, Indonesia ... then Bali, Indonesia ... then last week I was in Kuantan, Malaysia. 3 weekends back to back ! Phew !!

Was suppose to go back to work today, but decided to have a sleep in instead. They body is just so exhausted that I slept till 11 am, then sleep again from 3 - 6 pm.

Felt so blessed that I had the chance to travel so much this year, I really thank God for that ! I also wanna thank God for my improvements in photography .. ke ke, I am enjoying my pics more and more, and I hope u will find them exciting too ... you can check them out @ http://www.flickr.com/photos/eric_tai/

So it's 11 August now, a few more months before the end of the year. So now, what's next for me ? ... to cut down 30 KG instead of 20KG, and I have to start saving more money ... spend most of my money this year to get more photography equipments and a laptop, oh ya .. I am starting to love photoshop =) And perhaps, start planning for year 2009. It's coming real soon, and I hope 2009 is as fun as 2008 as well.

So, things that will happen in 2009 :-

1) Transformers II
2) Already turned 30 by then
3) I'm going be only 65 KG, and I will look good
4) Maybe keep a pony tail, need a change in hair style
5) Continue my travel plans ... but this time it's out of SEA, perhaps Europe or Japan/Korea
6) Oh ya ! Get a new Camera, perhaps a Nikon D300

IPhone - Made in China

A while ago I promised a review on the China made Iphone, here it goes ...

A beautiful box, nice packaging and a very interesting Iphone interface at the top of the box ..

Jeng Jeng Jeng ... the China made Iphone !

The size and the shape of the China made Iphone is almost the same, except for the additional buttons near the middle button ...

Even the back of the China made Iphone comes with an Apple logo .. oh noticed the Camera at the same spot as the Apple Iphone ??!!

It looks kinda nice and 'original' too ... ke ke ..

So it's assembled in China, but designed by Apple California ? U sure ?

I got so impressed when I switched the phone on, wow ! The interface is the same !! Slide to unlock ! Impressive ... but ...

Other than the slide function, the rest of the phone system is different ... this is the audio player ...

And the big difference of the China made Iphone, they give you a free stylus ...

This fellow is sold at RM 400 in China, I will give it a 25 % performance comparing it with the Apple Iphone. But looking from a different view, RM 400 to get all the functions, and it's also super light weight phone, a well deserved 50 % performance if it's compared APPLE to APPLE within the same range of phones selling at RM 400.

Oh I forgot to mention, it's a dual sim phone, which means u can switch between 2 SIMs with this phone, added functions that you cannot get in the Apple Iphone.

Maybe they should give this fellow out as door gift as the 2008 Beijing Olympics .. muahaha !

Animated TF McDonald Happy meal ...

Well if you remember me posting long ago that McDonalds is going to have a happy meal linked with the new TF animated series, with these 2 pics below :-

The TFW2005 website has confirmed the coming of the McDonalds Happy Meal TF. And I also personally saw this OP in 1 Utama @ one of the comic shops that sells TF and other toys as well.

It will come in a set of 6 TFs, so be ready to collect them. And their size is kinda big, somewhere around 2-3 inch tall. So much bigger than a TF legend.

Can't wait for it, global official launch date is 5 July, but I checked with the McDonalds Manager nearby my office, she said "tak tahu la, kena tunggu email' ... walau potong steam !

The best handover ever in my life ...

Phew ...

Just finished my weekly allocation and the time now is already 11.24 pm.

Bean and I are having the time of our lives now with the added functions. Not only we have to share the work of our friend on MC, now we are suppose to support another function .. aiyo .. kasihan kita orang T-T

Good news is there will be a temp reporting tomorrow to help us ease the burden.

Didn't have a screen shot, but you can just imagine suddenly receiving hundreds of emails that you have no idea of, and all emails are saying either Bean or myself will be the main contact person from now onwards ?!! What kinda of handover is this ? and when I ask that dear friend of us leaving next week for SOP (Standard Operating Procedure), or any documents that shows us the flow or the important paperwork needed, all she said was ... 'simple one, only follow up, all you need to do is just sit in front of the computer and follow up with the documents the whole day, do the same routine again and again for 3 days, which after you be alright.'

First, I think she didn't do the SOP, giving some excuses .. anyway ...

Second, how am I suppose leh to sit in front of the PC and do her job while I have 3 more functions I'm currently having. But for once I'm taking this positively, but u can imagine the situation, see how long leh we can tahan. Never had I see Bean being stressed to this level, he's always the calm dude that speaks with a mono tone voice ..... ke ke ... Now he can't even speak.

Alright la, at least my allocation is done, now just need a good rest, and log into work by 630 am to start pushing again. Btw a short weekend also.

Oh yah, I will be at Taman Pertanian Shah Alam this Sunday for the Jacob walk of life. So if anyone of u is going to be there, see ya there !

Out played in every ways ...

Walau everyone in the team is feeling it ...

One of our beloved team member is on a long emergency medical leave, and we are all trying to hold the fort ... but .. but .. but .. we are all feeling the effects. We wish her all the best, but we actually have not even the slightest idea of what happened to her. Anyway, we can only hope for the best.

Our bodies are tired, our minds are weak, can't really focus on things and we have all our own backlogs that we're putting 2nd priority as the stuff that comes our way are all URGENT stuff which we have no idea how to do. From a complete team of 7 we are now just 4 at the moment. Oh well, life goes on and hopefully we will be alright soon.

I'm now blogging from starbucks in front of my office while waiting for a friend. I felt kinda bad as the other 3 persons are still working in the office. I just can't continue with work tonite as I have some problems with the SAP system. Kinda got stucked, and can't proceed.

Nothing much I'm complaining here, as things like this does happen. But I am just trying to classify this case as ... maybe funny, maybe selfish, maybe not intended, and maybe surprising ... as even my manager do not know how to handle. It's just like having 8 players playing against a full 11 players of the opposite site, and then the game is 90 mins x infinity period.

Aiyo, I hope at the end of this period there will be no casualties.

Cheezy update ...

Hello every, how's life ?

Kinda miss talking to people, or to close friends. It's been just work, work and work. Handling a big project for the DP team at the moment, and it's really taking lotsa energy away from me. But I would say it's a good, or once in a lifetime opportunity to be involved in such project. Believe it or not, this project thingy has thought me so much that I think I'm more mature in handling things now ...

Apart from work, I'm also a little stretched in my finances. The effect of the latest fuel increase has been a big wave that hit basically everything that I purchase. From petrol till my breakfast. It's definitely killing! So, whatever crap about yearly increment is not going to justify for the increase in standard of living end of this year. Anyway better than nothing la ...

So I heard ... Nikon D700 is coming July ... should I just reward myself with this baby ? I know I won't die of hunger, coz I work in a food company ... nolar, just kidding =) But for all Malaysians, the saddest news is the 3G Apple IPhone is still not coming to Malaysia. There are only 78 countries worldwide that will receive this baby 'officially', and it's sad that Singapore can have it while us ... so close to getting it. Oh ya, do you know there is a China version of IPhones ? I will get a friend to give me the review, will blog about it soon.

Oh well ... time to continue my work at home, cheers ....

So sad to see Mum & Dad getting old ... T-T

First, this morning when I woke up, suddenly I felt the same feeling when I woke up as a college student. A funny feeling, but I do hope someday when I wake up, I immediately turn back the clock and have a second run being a college student.

I know I know, this will never happen, but having 5 mins feeling the funny thought is quite a fun one. I'm sure if I have the change to live my life again, even from college onwards, I will live differently.

Anyway, when I reach home, I have a small chat with Dad. Our conversation is becoming shorter and shorter, same with Mum. I think this is a big sign that we stop talking so much that I kinda miss them in my heart. We normally just talk over the phone, due to my ever packed schedule, either I'm doing this, or I'm doing that. But when I really look at my Dad during our chat, I just felt sad when the Dad in my mine doesn't look like the real thing anymore. He aged so much I can feel what he's gone thru in his life just by reading his facial emotion. Oh, everyone got their own life story, and I'm sure every story is an exciting one.

So, after my chat, which also turned into a debate, leaves me with a question with no answer ... what will happen to them in just another few years. They are aging so fast I don't know how to handle the pace, the situation ... surely not at the moment. People ask questions like 'what do you want to do in 5 years time ?' or ' what do u plan to do in the future ?' ... but suddenly the same questions asked in context of my parents, my mind just went blank ... I am already so busy living my own life, next big thing is to start my family (I guess), I'm just not sure how can I cope with another element in my life ... Oh .. this is even before having kids ... hmm ... life is something to be amazed, don't u think ?

Anyone with answer, please share ya ...

The MONKEY nature in us ...

Just came back from Phuket, a short trip to relax. Nothing more than a tourist + shopping zone, Phuket is actually not the most relaxing place ! In fact it's the most expensive place in Thailand. Food is surely super expensive, shopping centres with world class brands, everywhere I see foreigners ... So apart from a few RM 10 tees, and a pair of NB shoe on bargain, I took most of Phuket experience back in the form of pics. Free ...

Walau the word FREE ... I keep hearing this word non stop for the past week.

Retailers use this word to give out gifts - or rather increase the sales of their product with % of margin hiked up to include the cost of the gift.

Consumers use this word to ask for stuff without paying for something, or services.

MLM companies use word this to promote their 'free' of everything life - or rather before u become free, u're providing them your free service to make them even richer - and your eventually becomes a MLM slave first .. or for life ! Hmm .. wat's for free ?

Banks/Financial institutions use this word to promote their services - Interest free installment, financially free investments, problem free banking services .. etc. But they are using your hard earn money to invest and get more money ... your money is free (kinda) to them despite the small little interest they pay you back.

But God's freedom is basically to be free from all the above fake 'free' words in life. I believe God's freedom is to set you free from all problems in life. Yes another type of 'free' but this one comes with everlasting JOY, PEACE and LOVE. God's gave His 'unconditional' love for free - without you buying certain things to get His love. God gave his blessings without you becoming a slave - you just need to ask. God's blessings also don't come with interest too ! Ha ha !

One thing tho ... God's love and salvation may be free, but it cost Jesus His life !

Our needs

Time now : 1.21 am
Date : 23 April 2008

I just woke up not along ago ... after sleeping from noon till 10 pm. Except for a phone call from the Prai warehouse to ask for more stocks to maximize the truck load to the central warehouse, I should be more well rested.

Well, first time I had to use sleeping pills to relax and sleep. I haven't been 'sleeping' for days. And the only thing that keeps me walking, or awake is the ever tight timeline I have to complete some tasks. I'm now involved in a project to purchase a software to help in cutting down time needed to calculate demand of stocks using spreadsheets. This project is basically taking lots of my time and energy, despite the backlog of my current daily tasks.

Anyway, it's not about work I wanna share ...

This morning I couldn't breathe due to pressures from my colleagues to get some info from me. Now that worries me. I almost fainted in the office. Went to the doc to do a few tests, and everything seems normal, except for a slight high in sugar level.

The trend seems to be like this. Everyone is task and and objective oriented, until we have to sometime put it in our task list to eat, sleep, to go for sports, and buy vitamins .. ets just to make sure our mind doesn't forget these important elements in our life. Isn't those the basic things we need to maintain our lifes, or keep us alive ? Most of the time we forgot we only need a job to earn us money to buy food, and shelter.

Needs in the new context is scary. Last time, a house is a need, food is a need. Now a good car that show status + fuel economical + nice design + safety features is a need. A house/apartment/condo in the town area - near to the LRT station is a need. Laptop with WIFI and big screen is a need. 3G handphone with memory slot is a need. It seems like everything is a need, and it's also a NEED to earn bigger salary to accommodates the other needs.

Funny ? But I foresee the list of needs expanding more just in the few coming years. I'm also hooked into this 'NEED Cycle'. Been buying a few 'needs' lately to aid in my growth in photography. Not sure if this is a good decision, but I think I will take this risk this time round. Maybe when I get older and I couldn't take stress anymore from a MNC, I will go freelance in photography. Still lot to learn, but determined to be at the highest level in photography .. wish me luck.

So friend, remember what u really need. It's your life lived fully with no regrets, or filling up the blackhole with things (needs) and thought you will be satisfied at the end of the day. You do know a blackhole can never be filled right ??!!

One thing tho, she look better in person, and people are so so so comfortable with her. Powderful women of God indeed ! No celebrity / VIP attitude, just another ordinary women, with God's grace and mercies shown in her ... I didn't hang on, went home straight after the service to rest ... Zzz .. but I heard some of the church youths went mamak with her ... Thanks yo Fiona for the sharing ... come again soon ...

Oh oh .. do u know there's actually 1 Noah's Ark in the Netherlands, and another 1 in Hong Kong. I mean the real thing, built as a landmark for people to visit (Like a museum). Quite a cool thing to have! Let me find the link, and I will post the link here oh ... so that we can all read more about it !
